People and communities

You can make a difference to research by getting involved. We welcome people from different communities. The NIHR Maternity Disparities Consortium involves and engages with the public and our local communities in many ways.

How do I get involved?

Anyone can get involved. You do not need any specific qualifications or work experiences. Your expertise is your own lived experience.

You may be someone with experience of a disease or maternal health condition, perhaps as a patient or as someone who cared for a patient with it (now or in the past) – or you may simply be interested in health and research. We welcome people from any background or community.
